PROPRIA MISSAE

OFFERTORIUM Ps 31:11

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye just: and glory, all ye right of heart.

INTROITVS Ps 78:11-12, 1

Let the sighing of the prisoners come in before Thee, O Lord: render to our neighbours sevenfold in their bosom: revenge the blood of Thy saints which hath been shed. Ps. O God, the heathens are come into Thy inheritance: they have defiled Thy holy temple: they have made Jerusalem as a place to keep fruit. Glory be to the Father.

COLLECTA Missale Romanum 1962

O God, Who grantest us to celebrate the birthday of Thy holy Martyrs N. and N., grant, we beseech Thee, that we may enjoy their company in everlasting happiness.

EPISTOLA Heb 11:33-39

Brethren: The saints by faith conquered kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, put to flight the armies of foreigners: women received their dead raised to life again. But others were racked, not accepting deliverance, that they might find a better resurrection. And others had trial of mockeries and stripes, moreover also of bands and prisons. They were stoned, they were cut asunder, they were tempted, they were put to death by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being in want, distressed, afflicted: of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, in mountains, and in dens, and in caves of the earth. And all these being approved by the testimony of faith, received not the promise; God providing some better thing for us, that they should not be perfected without us.

GRADUALE Ps 67:36

Glorious is God in His saints: wonderful is God in His holy places; the God of Israel is He. V. In the churches bless ye God the Lord, from the fountains of Israel.

EVANGELIVM Lk 21:9-19

At that time Jesus said to His disciples: When you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified: these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet presently. Then He said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be great signs. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for My Name's sake. And it shall happen unto you for a testimony. Lay it up therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay. And you shall be betrayed by your parents and brethren, and kinsmen and friends; and some of you they will put to death. And you shall be hated by all men for My Name's sake: but a hair of your head shall not perish. In your patience you shall possess your souls.

POSTCOMMUNIO Missale Romanum 1962

Grant us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, through the intercession of Thy holy Martyrs N. and N., that what we have received with our mouth, we may take with a pure mind; and that from a temporal gift it may become for us an everlasting remedy.
